The Grainstore Brewery works out of a derelict Victorian grain store right beside Oakham station, converted by Tony Davis, a former head brewer at Ruddles, who started brewing here in 1994. The tap room is on the ground floor under the brewing plant, pouring their own cask ales including the well-known Cooking Bitter. Tours run when booked. You can barely miss it: the station is about 200m away, so it’s an easy stop off the train into Oakham.
