Come between mid-March and early September to see the ospreys. Between 1996 and 2001 young Scottish birds were released at Rutland Water, and in 2001 a pair bred here for the first time in England in over 150 years. The Lyndon reserve on the south shore is the place to watch them: hides look out over the Manton Bay nest, and the visitor centre runs a live nest camera through the season. Paths and hides make an easy half-day near Edith Weston.
