Cut into the green at the edge of Wing is one of only eight surviving turf mazes in England. It’s really a labyrinth rather than a maze: a single winding grass path, laid out to the same eleven-circuit Chartres pattern as the pavement mazes in some European cathedrals, so there are no dead ends, just one long looping walk to the centre. It’s thought to be medieval, though nobody knows its exact age. Free to walk, out in the open on the village common.
