Come on a fine day and grab a table in the garden: the Moorcock Inn sits on the hillside above Eggleston with long views down Teesdale. It’s a country inn doing food and rooms, well placed for walks around the dale and a short hop from Middleton-in-Teesdale. Frosterley station is about 13km north over the tops.
