On a corner in the middle of Middleton-in-Teesdale, the Teesdale Hotel is an old coaching inn that makes a hearty base for exploring the dale. There are rooms upstairs and food downstairs, and the falls at High Force and Low Force are an easy drive up the valley. Frosterley station is around 14km away.
