Low Force is a set of stepped cascades on the Tees just below the Wynch Bridge, a gentler companion to High Force a mile and a half upstream. Level, well-made paths reach it from Bowlees and along the Pennine Way, making it one of the easier riverside falls to enjoy with children in tow. The polished rocks by the water get slippery, so keep back from the edge when it’s wet. Stanhope station is about 14km to the north-east.
