The Fox and Hounds looks out over the green at Cotherstone, the Teesdale village that gives its name to a crumbly local cheese made just across the river by Teesdale Cheesemakers. It’s a well-kept country inn with real ales, dales cooking and rooms if you want to stay. A cosy base for walking the woods and riverbanks where the Balder meets the Tees.
