Elements Sauna stands beside a spring-fed lake in the grounds of the TCR Hub at Shaw Bank, Barnard Castle. It’s a traditional Finnish wood-fired sauna taking no more than eight people a session, and you cool off with a dip or a swim in the lake, all year round. There are toilets, changing areas and a cold shower on site, and the programme includes female-only and full-moon sauna-and-swim sessions.
