Sowerby Bridge grew up where the Rochdale Canal meets the Calder & Hebble Navigation, and the restored wharf is the heart of it — narrowboats, waterside bars and antique shops. It makes an easy canal-walk link up the valley towards Hebden Bridge. The station is a short climb above the centre.
