On the River Bollin, Prestbury is an old and affluent village with a broad main street of timbered and Georgian houses, plenty of pubs and restaurants, and a little Norman chapel standing in the churchyard beside St Peter’s. It’s one of the smart Cheshire “Golden Triangle” villages, good for an amble and a long lunch. The station is right on the edge of the village.
