The gardens at Capesthorne Hall wrap around a dramatic Jacobean-style mansion near Siddington, with lakeside and woodland walks, formal beds and a little family chapel. They open seasonally alongside the hall, so check the calendar before you go. It’s an easy pairing with the timber-framed All Saints church in the village.
