Sir Bernard Lovell, the astronomer who founded nearby Jodrell Bank, spent decades planting trees around his home at Swettenham, and the result is this 28-acre arboretum. There are tree-lined avenues, a lake and several national plant collections to wander among. Open to visitors, with an admission charge. Goostrey station is about 3km to the north-west.
