Above Bollington stands White Nancy, a squat white-painted stone folly put up in 1817 to mark the victory at Waterloo — now the town’s unofficial emblem, reached by a short sharp climb up Kerridge Hill. The village below is an old mill town in the Peak foothills, with the Macclesfield Canal running through on a high embankment and the flat Middlewood Way for easy walking and cycling. Prestbury station is about 4km to the west.
