The Travellers Rest sits high on Mapperley Plains at the eastern edge of Nottingham, an 18th-century former halfway house on the Woodborough road. It looks out over the Dumbles valley, with open fires inside and a large garden behind. In the 19th century it was a resting point for herders driving geese in to Nottingham’s Goose Fair.
