Green’s Windmill is a black tower mill above Sneinton, built in 1807 and worked by George Green — the miller who taught himself mathematics and, in 1828, wrote the essay that gave physics Green’s theorem and Green’s functions. Restored to grind flour again, it has a small science centre alongside that tells his story and lets you play with light and magnetism. The mill itself is under repair until late 2026, though the science centre, shop and garden stay open. It is free, about 1.5km from Nottingham station.
