The Fleur de Lys began as a row of 15th-century cottages beside the Stratford Canal at Lowsonford, later knocked together into one canalside pub. Its name is on a well-known pie: they were first baked here in the 1950s and sold to chip shops across the county before a big firm took the recipe national. The kitchen makes its own pies again today. Handy after a towpath walk.
