Packwood’s yew garden is meant to represent the Sermon on the Mount: twelve large yews stand as the Apostles, four more as the Evangelists, and a crowd of smaller trees form the Multitude, with a single yew called the Master crowning a spiral-topped mount. It was laid out in the mid-17th century and is now one of the country’s great topiary gardens, alongside a Tudor house the National Trust has held since 1941. In Lapworth; the station is about 1.4km east.
