St Peter’s church here is the oldest in Warwickshire, its lower tower Saxon work from around AD 900; the space at its core is known as the Saxon Sanctuary. The village sits on the Stratford Canal, which crosses the main road just south on a cast-iron aqueduct. Aston Cantlow and its King’s Head are a short way off. Wootton Wawen has its own station on the North Warwickshire line.
