Substantial ruinsruined, but plenty survives above ground
Pinley was a small Cistercian nunnery, founded in the early 12th century and dissolved in 1536. The site is now Pinley Abbey Farm, and everything left of the house — a scrap of the priory church wall, a moat, building platforms and the earthworks of a post-Dissolution garden — sits on private land alongside a timber-framed farmhouse of about 1500. There is no public access and nothing to see from the road, so treat this one as background rather than an outing. If you’re in the corner anyway, Hatton Locks on the Grand Union Canal are a short drive east.
