Arthur Measures, a bank clerk, spent sixty years making this half-acre plot at the foot of Warwick Castle into one of the town’s loveliest gardens, and his family still runs it. It sits right on the River Avon, with Caesar’s Tower rising overhead and the ruins of the medieval Great Bridge across the water. Paid entry; the mill and its packed borders make a small, romantic stop. Warwick station is about 800m north.
