The great town church of Warwick, rebuilt after the fire of 1694 that swept through the borough — Sir William Wilson raised the new nave and battlemented tower in a bold Gothic over the following decade. The medieval Beauchamp Chapel escaped the flames, and still holds the gilded bronze effigy of Richard Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick, who died in 1439. You can climb the tower for a view across the rooftops. Warwick station is about 600m to the north-east.
