In Aitken Wood above Barley, the Pendle Sculpture Trail winds past carved witches, hares, goblins and ceramic plaques that retell the 1612 witch trials. It’s an easy family loop, good to combine with the climb up Pendle Hill from the village. Free to walk, though there’s a charge for the car park. The Alice Nutter statue over at Roughlee tells another piece of the same story.
