Climbing Pendle Hill? Barley is the usual starting point, and the Pendle Inn is where most walkers end up afterwards — a cosy 1930s village pub with rooms, deep in witch-trial country. The Pendle Sculpture Trail winds through the woods nearby. Brierfield station is about 5km south-east.
