Built in 1660 and once a farmstead, this rambling old inn stands in the middle of Castleton, the show-cave village at the head of the Hope Valley. It’s a low-beamed pub with rooms, well placed for the Blue John caverns and the walk up to Mam Tor and the ridge beyond. Hope station is about 3km east.
