The Inn at Whitewell is the grandest stop in Bowland — an ancient coaching inn on a bend of the River Hodder, with roaring fires and antique-strewn rooms, and miles of its own trout and salmon fishing. Non-residents are welcome for a drink or a meal, and the views up the Hodder valley are gorgeous. It stands by the hamlet of Whitewell, on the road up to the Trough of Bowland. Clitheroe station is about 10km south-east.
