If you like old church woodwork, St Andrew’s at Slaidburn is a treat. This Grade I church deep in the Forest of Bowland kept its Georgian three-decker pulpit and sounding board, box pews, and a carved screen from the 1630s, all beautifully preserved. The Hark to Bounty is just along the road for afterwards. Clitheroe is the nearest station, about 11km to the south.
