Three cottages in the Chatsworth estate village of Beeley were knocked together into an inn in 1747, and the Devonshire Arms has served travellers and estate workers ever since. Flagged floors and inglenook fires inside, cask ales from Peak breweries, and rooms by the green. Chatsworth House itself is a couple of miles up the Derwent, an easy walk or drive.
