David Austin bred his English roses on the family farm here at Albrighton from the 1950s, crossing the scent and form of old garden roses with the repeat-flowering of modern ones. The gardens beside the nursery hold the National Collection of English Roses — hundreds of varieties that flower in flushes from late spring to the first frosts — and they’re free to walk, with a plant centre and tearoom alongside. Cosford station is under a kilometre to the north.
