Weston Park is a late-17th-century house set in a thousand acres of parkland landscaped by Capability Brown, its rooms hung with paintings by Van Dyck and Stubbs collected by generations of the Earls of Bradford. A charitable trust has run the estate since the 1980s. The house opens on a mix of free-flow and guided-tour days through the season and is closed on Saturdays, so check before setting out. Outside there’s a deer park, walking trails through Brown’s old Pleasure Ground, and an adventure playground for families. David Austin Roses is a short drive south, and Cosford station about 5km away.
