The Wilkin family have farmed at Tiptree since 1757, and have turned their own fruit into Tiptree jam since the 1880s — with a royal warrant held since 1911. By the orchards there’s a tea room, farm shop and a small jam museum. Open to visitors; a homely stop rather than a grand day out. Kelvedon station is about 5km to the north-west.
