Coggeshall grew rich on the medieval wool trade, and its church shows it — a tall, light Perpendicular building of the 15th century. A German bomb wrecked the chancel and much of the interior in 1940, and it was rebuilt with care after the war. Open to visitors, in a town also known for its timber-framed houses and tithe barn.
