Mrs Dowson’s is a working dairy farm out near Bashall that turns its own milk into ice cream, with a parlour to eat it in and animal encounters and a play barn for younger visitors. It’s a cheerful family half-day, the milking herd right there beside you, and there’s a shop for tubs to take home. Reached down country lanes, so you’ll want a car; Langho station is about 3km off.
