Longridge sits on the edge of its own fell, looking out west across the Fylde plain towards the distant sea. It’s an independent-minded little market town with a good spread of shops and places to eat, and it marks the start of a walking and cycling trail along an old railway line. Longridge Fell behind the town gives a fine, breezy walk. The nearest station, Ramsgreave & Wilpshire, is about 10km to the south-east.
