Down a quiet lane near Ribchester, St Saviour’s at Stydd is a lonely little Norman chapel, Grade I listed and the last survivor of a small community once held by the Knights Hospitaller. There’s been worship here since around 1190, and the plain stone building still has its narrow Norman windows. The Stydd Gardens nursery is right beside it, so it’s easy to do both. A lovely, out-of-the-way find.
