St Wilfrid’s sits by the Ribble at Ribchester, built right beside the old Roman fort — some Roman stone even found its way into the fabric. The medieval church keeps its box pews and a good deal of old character. Pair a visit with the Ribchester Roman Museum just along the way. Ramsgreave & Wilpshire is the nearest station, about 5km to the south-east.
