JJ Sandham have been making Lancashire cheese at Barton, near Garstang, since 1900, and rank among the county’s finest for traditional creamy and crumbly Lancashire. It’s chiefly a working creamery rather than a visitor attraction, but the cheese turns up in farm shops and delis across the region — including the Bowland Food Hall at Clitheroe. Barton sits just off the A6 south of Garstang.
