St Martin’s is often called the most crooked church in Britain. Built on an old landslip, the ground has shifted over the centuries so that the tower leans one way and the chancel another, twisting the building out of true — the interior tilts like a ship’s deck. It stands in the Vale of Ewyas; usually open during the day, with Abergavenny about 10km to the south.
