The Skirrid Inn at Llanvihangel Crucorney, below the notched hill of the Skirrid, claims to be the oldest pub in Wales — though the present stone building is largely 17th-century. Its long history takes in a courtroom on the upper floor and hangings in the stairwell, and it trades hard on a haunted reputation. Abergavenny station is about 7km south.
