Skirrid Fawr is open-access countryside in the care of the National Trust in Monmouthshire. The Albion Guide maps four National Trust places in the county; this is one of them. It sits within Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.

Make a day of it: take in the views from Ysgyryd Fawr, or stop for a drink at The Walnut Tree. For arrivals by rail, Abergavenny Station is about 4.7 km to the south-west.
