St David’s sits beside the ruins of Llanthony Priory, deep in the Vale of Ewyas under the Black Mountains. The present church was made from the priory’s medieval infirmary, with worship on the site going back to the priory’s founding in the early 12th century. Usually open in the day; Abergavenny is the nearest station, about 15km south.
