A cluster of thatched cob and granite cottages in the wooded Wrey Valley, on the eastern side of Dartmoor. The church, a tea garden and an old cross gather around a small green, and paths lead up onto the moor and out to Lustleigh Cleave. The village keeps a May Day custom, crowning a May Queen on a granite rock in the orchard each year. Newton Abbot has the nearest station, about 14km south-east.
