Dartmoor's most iconic granite tor.
Approximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
Haytor is Dartmoor’s best-known landmark, a great dome of granite that rises in two rounded masses above the open moor. The pull to the top is short and steep, with a scramble up the rock itself for the last few metres and wide views over the moor and out to the South Devon coast. There’s a car park and information centre right below. Newton Abbot station is about 11km to the south-east.
