Devon’s first single malt whisky is made here, in the old town hall at Bovey Tracey on Dartmoor’s eastern edge. The distillery opened in 2017 and works a copper still that once made spirit in France, using Dartmoor barley. Saturday tasting tours run through its bourbon-, sherry- and wine-cask malts. Newton Abbot station is about 10km to the south-east.
