Come to this small church below Dartmoor for its windows: St Michael holds the best medieval stained glass in Devon outside Exeter Cathedral, fifteenth-century windows of saints set low enough to study close up. The most unusual shows the Seven Sacraments, each linked by a red stream to a central figure of Christ. Usually open in daylight hours. Exeter is the nearest railhead, about 8km north-east.
