This smart country dining pub in the estate village of Hoar Cross — properly the Meynell Ingram Arms, after the family at nearby Hoar Cross Hall — took Pub of the Year at the Enjoy Staffordshire awards. It’s a short walk from the extraordinary Church of the Holy Angels. Rugeley Trent Valley is the nearest station, about 9km south-west.
