Abbots Bromley
Local highlightAbbots Bromley is a timber-framed village gathered around a market cross, best known for its Horn Dance. Each year on Wakes Monday — the day after the first Sunday following 4 September — twelve dancers carry a set of reindeer antlers, some carbon-dated to the 11th century, on a ten-mile round of the village and its neighbours. It is often called the oldest surviving folk dance in England. The rest of the year it’s a quiet place with an old church and a couple of pubs.
