Llancaiach Fawr is a semi-fortified Tudor manor near Nelson, built around 1550 for the Prichard family. It’s run as a living-history house set in 1645, when Charles I visited during the Civil War, with costumed servants staying in character as they show you round. There’s a visitor centre and café. Ticketed, and worth checking opening days before travelling.
