Parc Cwm Darran fills a valley near Deri that once held the Ogilvie colliery, landscaped after closure into a country park with a lake, meadows and waymarked trails along the old railway. There’s a visitor centre, café and campsite, and fishing on the lake. Open access and free to walk. Tir-phil station is a couple of kilometres east over the ridge.
