A narrow-gauge steam line, the Brecon Mountain Railway climbs from Pant up into the Beacons, running the full length of Pontsticill Reservoir and on towards Torpantau. Most trains are hauled by vintage Baldwin steam locomotives, with a cafe and workshop at the Pant end. A there-and-back trip of about five miles with views out over the Taf Fechan valley. Merthyr Tydfil station is around 4km south.
