Zip World Tower is built on the site of Tower Colliery at Hirwaun — the last deep mine in the South Wales coalfield, worker-owned for years before it closed in 2008. Its Phoenix zip line, billed as the fastest seated zip line in the world, sends four riders side by side down the mountain at up to 70mph. Other rides and a via ferrata fill out the site.
